Thank god for scooby's.

Er, or maybe not. But the day I got here in Dumaguete, almost all the net connections were down. Brownout the whole day and we had taken to walking it. For stretches. Up and down the boulevard, going downtown, buying some kiwi fruit at Lee Plaza.

My first purchase for this trip is a compilation of fiction by young writers. Future Shock. Now I don't have any money. And I was supposed to go home on the afternoon flight back to Manila. But here I am, in Scooby's. I am lacking clothes. I might need to go downtown to either get me some emergency threads or bring everything to the laundromat. Living from a backpack can sometimes be irritating if you're a fan of fresh socks everyday.
This is kantogirl.

Now posting live from Dumaguete.

Porcelain (for the cracked soul)

In my dreams I'm dying all the time
As I wake its kaleidoscopic mind
I never meant to hurt you
I never meant to lie
So this is goodbye
This is goodbye

Tell the truth you never wanted me
Tell me

In my dreams I'm jealous all the time
As I wake I'm going out of my mind
Going out of my mind

--Moby, "Play"

Looks like this season's all-purpose (parang arina?) Christmas gift is the home-made (at mainit-init pa) burned mix cd. I got a stack already, most of which I still haven't listened to. I'm excited about the Sarah McLachlan Rarities and B-sides. Currently listening to tracks from Moby's "Play" and from Madonna's "Drowned World Tour." Techno is nice for when you feel angry and want to use up all that pent-up energy just bouncing around your room.

the not so very secret kris aquino diaries

The end of blogging as we know it. Because we can't seem to get enough of her. Grabe ha, complete with Hello Kitty template and colegiala grammar. She's going multimedia na ha. Kulang na lang yata AM radio at we'll be Kris Aquino-ed to death. Kris Aquino, you're so po-mo.

I must tell myself this, I am a cat. Here kitty kitty kitty cat

What is the difference between dogs and cats?
Dog: "They feed me, love me and take care of me: they must be gods!"
Cat: "They feed me, love me and take care of me: I must be a god!"

I hate it when I'm like this, all dog, all drooling. But I can't help it. Para akong bumaba sa evolution chain. I must get back to diyosa status. Double leche.
Feast Day ko ngayon. It's kantogirlday April Fools! Leche.
cet amour-la

Jeanne Moreau as Marguerite Duras and her young lover plus French everything, smart women, gorgeous words. What more can you ask for?

Dropped by the video store. They already have Amelie out on vcd. Yey! Kissing Jessica Stein is also out, so I had a bit of a dilemma. I can only get one, so I texted bluekessa and asked if Jessica Stein was worth picking up. Cute daw yung guy dun. Ugh, I needed more. Na-pressure siya ng matinong sagot, so she said maganda naman yung storyline, bago, and okay ang characters. Hehehe. So I picked Kissing Jessica Stein. Oooh, and Bring It On for my mindless entertainment pile.

sssshhhhh!

I think I'd really like to pursue this project. I don't know exactly what triggered my interest in it, except that I wanted to do a story that focuses on a single character who has a definitive line of work and follow it through. No messy one-event, three-povs sort of thing. No gimmickry. Just a character with a story. I'm not sure though whether to do it fiction, non-fiction. It would be easier to do it nf. And I would like to do that immersion thingie. But I can't do it alone. It has to be at least two people, I've been told. No onania. Just two or three people and camera. I must find me a digital v-8.

Ladies and gentlemen, Miss Kantogirl in her rendition of the pagtawid sa alambre act

Bakit ko ba niloloko ang sarili ko?
I won't deny it like that song
Hindi ako si Bitter Ocampo.
Leche kasi si Sting eh.
Astig sa last song syndrome
You'll be sorry when I'm dead
And all this guilt will be on your head
I guess you'll call it suicide
But I'm too full
To swallow my pride
I can't I can't I can't stand losing
I can't I can't I can't stand losing
I can't I can't I can't
I can't stand losing you
I can't stand losing yyyyooou.
Act of recurring humiliation ends here.
